ArtBiz Jam Recap

Better late than never, I always say.........

Lori Siebert, Phyllis Dobbs, Anne Brown and I hosted our first artist gathering in beautiful Destin, FL September 18-27. Our featured guest was Chad Barrett, the wonder twin who shares my studio with me. He pretty much stole the show and is now a permanent fixture at future gatherings.

All we knew, when we started putting this event together, was that we wanted to gather a group of creative people who wanted to share, learn and discuss the business of making a living doing what they love to do.
Never in our wildest dreams did we imagine that we would end up with the most wonderful, sharing, talented and HILARIOUS group of people EVER!

I also think that we were surprised at how much we got out of it. It was so amazing to see the lightbulbs go off  and to watch people open up and blossom right before our eyes.  For me, it all boils down to knowing that you aren't in this crazy mess alone. We have a private FB group for the attendees, and I am so happy to see that the support and laughter is still going strong. The event was everything we wanted it to be and then some.

Sure there were glitches (after all it was our maiden voyage) but everyone was patient and honest with us about changes that we can make for next year. Yes, we are doing it again in October 2014!

In closing, I want to give a heartfelt thank you to out ArtBiz Jam virgins. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for joining us. I am truly happy to know each and every one of you. I miss our driveway parties, sharpie tattoos, chalked hair and dirty talk (you know who you are). I seriously can't imagine next year topping this year but we will surely try!

The first night's Meet and Greet. We all made name tags so we knew who we were.

 Getting messy!

 Such a great group!
