Chaos Equals Progress

The past month or so I have been working on 2 big projects back to back. Both required assorted papers, patterns, trims, buttons-you name it. The studio looked like a tornado hit it.

While winding up the last one all I could think about was how I needed to clean the studio.  It was awful-all of the above mentioned items were everywhere. Everything was disorganized and, being a girl who likes organization, I thought I would lose my mind if I didn't tend to it asap.

Well yesterday was the big day. I purged, cleaned, folded and organized my little heart out. At the end of the day I was exhausted but happy with the progress I had made. There are still a few things to be done today but it looks and feels so much better.

Currently my neighborhood is in the same state as my studio was a few days ago. I live right smack in the middle of downtown Atlanta and we are getting a streetcar. It will pretty much surround my neighborhood. Walking or driving in the area is a challenge because of all of the construction. While on my morning run it occurred to me that this construction wasn't all that different than my studio mess, it is just on a larger scale.

Sure it's chaos for awhile but in the end there will be progress and that's a good thing.

We all go through this in our lives. It might come in the form of a relationship, a move, a career change, working out the details of a project or just organizing your closet. While it seems like you are making a mess and creating chaos, if you see it through, there will be progress.

Take a look at my etsy shop if you care to see some of my purges. Also, if you are attending ArtBiz Jam, you're in luck! I am bringing lots of goodies to share. If you haven't registered we might be able to squeeze you in.

Thanks for stopping by!
